- Full-time, temp-to-hire, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical Surgical patients in a teaching hospital setting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes according to protocols and procedures
- Assist with patient assessments, medication administration, and wound care
- Support floating responsibilities across Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU units as needed, with resources provided
- Participate in precepting or shadowing students, as required by the facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid Indiana or Compact State Nursing License in hand or submitted fingerprint application
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical Surgical setting
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma environments preferred
- Ability to work flexible weekends (50% of weekends required), with shifts typically scheduled at night for 12 hours
- Willingness to work in a teaching hospital environment with potential for precepting students
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with trauma, orthopedic injuries, wounds, or surgical drains
- Prior experience working in a hospital with complex patient cases and high acuity
- Ability to float between different care levels including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU
