Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit, including neuro/stroke care.
• Float between different levels of care such as Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU as needed, with resources provided.
• Assist with patient assessments, medication administration, and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in team collaboration and contribute to a positive patient care environment.
• Take on charge nurse responsibilities when operationally required, with training provided.
• Support precepting and mentoring students or new staff, if assigned.

Required Qualifications
• Current Indiana or Compact license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience with Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and IV start skills.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias is preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends, with a requirement to work approximately 50% of weekends.
• Willingness to float to different care levels as needed.
• Ability to work nights and commit to 12-hour shifts.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience in neuro/stroke care.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Prior experience working in a teaching hospital environment.

Additional Notes
• Travel nurses accepted must be flexible with weekend requirements and willing to participate in precepting or student shadowing.
• Candidates must have either an IN license in hand or have submitted fingerprint application materials.
• IU Health will offer a charge pay bump of $3.00 per hour.
