Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit.
- Monitor patient vitals and responses, especially post-op cardiac patients, including those with open or closed hearts.
- Float to similar units as needed, supporting a flexible care team.
- Adhere to protocols for trauma Level 1 experience and cardiothoracic, vascular, and cardiac patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Comply with facility requirements, including documentation of all employment gaps over 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the specific unit.
- Valid AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS required prior to start.
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
- Experience in large trauma Level 1 hospitals within the last year.
- Cardiac, cardiothoracic, and vascular nursing experience.
- Post-op 1-day heart open/closed experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PCCN certification is a plus.
- Willingness to work 2 out of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day).
- Reliable transportation; personal or rental vehicle recommended, especially for travel and reliability during winter months.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
