Registered Nurse Operating Room
Job Title

Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, 4x10-hour shifts per week, mids (13:00 – 22:00)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the operating room for various surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgical teams across multiple service lines, excluding cardiovascular
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols during procedures
- Assist with a wide range of cases including general surgery, trauma, orthopedics, neurology, plastics, and urology
- Manage emergency situations, including trauma cases and code responses
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize Cerner electronic charting system
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or current application process
- Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience
- BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred
- Experience with Level I trauma cases and general surgery procedures
- Knowledge of intraoperative procedures, including laparoscopic and trauma cases
- Proficiency with surgical equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic sources, and Hana tables
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cerner electronic health record system experience
- Experience in bariatric, neuro, orthopedic, plastic, and transplant surgeries
- Skilled in managing complex trauma and emergency response procedures
- Familiarity with advanced equipment and sterile techniques
