Schedule / Job Type
• Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, assignment lasting approximately 16-32 weeks (starting 12/01)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide psychiatric nursing care in the Emergency Department for a diverse patient population, including pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Assess, monitor, and support patients experiencing acute or chronic mental health conditions, some requiring medical intervention.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure safety and compliance with hospital policies, including patient and staff safety protocols.
• Float as needed within the unit, providing flexible support across shifts.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions and demonstrate ongoing compliance with training requirements.

Required Qualifications
• Active AHA BLS certification.
• CPI, ProAct, or MOAB certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior travel or extensive psychiatric experience in a large teaching hospital.
• Recent EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• Valid nursing license applicable to the state of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Skilled in managing patients with acute psychiatric crises, including danger to self or others.
• Experience working with a diverse age range, from pediatric to geriatric.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Information
• Travel rate: $88/hour; local rate: $78/hour within 50 miles; distant rate: $83/hour for 51-100 miles.
• No call required; travel is between 16-32 weeks.
• Travelers are required to work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day).
• Reliable transportation is essential; personal or rental vehicles recommended with all-season or snow tires during winter months.
• All work history details, including facility type, bed count, EMR, etc., must be complete for submission.
• No block scheduling; shifts are scheduled in a continuous manner.
• Orientation scheduled bi-weekly, with the next session on 12/15.
• Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained during application.
