Schedule / Job Type
Full-time, temporary (13-week assignment), day shifts (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM), inpatient behavioral health intake

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and first evaluations for involuntary commitment (IVC), utilizing telehealth or in-person methods.
• Collaborate with emergency room physicians and psychiatrists to determine appropriate levels of care and coordinate treatment and discharge plans.
• Serve as a resource to the care team by assisting with de-escalation during crises and guiding the IVC process.
• Provide information regarding inpatient hospitalization options and community resources to patients and their families.
• Maintain documentation using Cerner PowerChart and adhere to hospital policies and guidelines.
• Follow scheduled shifts within the unit, including scheduled float policies and dress code requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina license as a Social Worker or Therapist (must be in hand prior to submission).
• Certification as a First Examiner and Notary Public in North Carolina.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required for crisis intervention and team collaboration.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of social work or behavioral health experience.
• Experience with telehealth systems and emergency psychiatric assessments.
• Familiarity with hospital documentation and electronic health records.
