Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Wausau, WI
Schedule / Job Type: Rotating shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures including total hips, total knees, shoulder surgeries, scopes, ORIFs, podiatry, and hand procedures.
• Assist in preparing the operating room for scheduled cases and support surgical teams throughout procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals, ensure patient safety, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care and surgical procedures accurately using electronic charting systems.
• Support a fast-paced surgical environment with high case volumes, ensuring timely room turnover and excellent patient care.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
• Minimum of 3 years of circulating RN experience in a large, multi-suite operating room environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records such as Epic (Optime), Brainlab Buzz, PACs, and other medical equipment systems.
• BLS certification (required), ACLS certification (desirable).
• Ability to work variable shifts, including night and weekend call rotations.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to adapt quickly in a high-pressure setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with Orthopedic, Neuro, Cardiovascular, Geriatrics, or Family Practice surgeries is a plus.
• Prior experience with advanced surgical equipment and computerized charting tools.
• Familiarity with sedation and patient monitoring in a surgical environment.
