Nights, Part-time (4 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
- Monitor and manage patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants
- Perform clinical assessments, interventions, and post-operative care in accordance with ICU protocols
- Comply with hospital policies, including UVAs float policy and scheduling requirements
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health record system
- Participate in biweekly scheduling, including every other weekend and two out of three winter holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid Virginia RN license (or pending licensure submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Ability to work nights and flexible schedules as outlined
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a CVICU or cardiac ICU setting
- Knowledge of cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures
- Familiarity with hospital policies regarding float staffing and holiday coverage
