Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients in an ICU step-down unit with high acuity cases.
- Monitor and assess patients with diverse diagnoses including sepsis, pneumonia, cardiac conditions, trauma, and stroke.
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols.
- Collaborate with medical team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient progress and maintain comprehensive records in the electronic health record system.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies to ensure optimal outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU step-down (ICU-CCU/IMC/PCU) experience.
- Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
- NIH stroke certification and Maryland-approved trauma certification preferred.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, and stroke patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high patient acuity.
