Key Responsibilities
- Manage high acuity patients requiring close cardiac and respiratory monitoring in an intermediate care setting.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for critically ill patients.
- Respond quickly to changes in patient hemodynamics or respiratory status to intervene appropriately.
- Provide education and advocacy for patients and their families during their stay.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an IMC, PCU, or step-down unit caring for critically ill patients.
- Knowledge of managing patients with sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-open-heart procedures, or those requiring continuous cardiac or respiratory support.
