Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical social work services in a short-term acute care inpatient setting.
• Cover 40-60 patients per day, assisting with discharge planning, resource coordination, and patient support.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs and facilitate care transitions.
• Participate in orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Thursdays.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, including documentation and certification requirements.
• Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs as directed.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BASW or BSW preferred).
• WV State Licensed Social Worker (LSW, LMSW, or equivalent) or eligible for licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of acute care social work experience.
• Valid WV or Compact RN License (can submit application with pending license).
• Covid vaccine; flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 – March 31), with exceptions for documented allergies.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center or major teaching hospital.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume inpatient environment.

Additional Details

• Shifts: 8 hours, days, Monday through Friday, with some weekends required.
