Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for MRI scans of various body parts, including setting up coils and monitoring devices.
• Screen patients for ferrous metal implants or other contraindications prior to imaging.
• Select appropriate pulse sequences and protocols, adjusting as needed for diagnostic quality.
• Operate MRI console to manipulate and evaluate images, ensuring quality and completeness.
• Send images to PACS, verify exams, and document procedures accurately for billing and recordkeeping.
• Provide patient care by explaining procedures, addressing questions, and monitoring physical and psychological needs.
• Initiate intravenous lines for contrast-enhanced MRI exams and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures and participate in departmental statistics and quality audits.
• Support training and education of students and technologists, and contribute to ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related MRI technologist experience.
• ARRT certification in radiologic technology.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to operate GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners.
• Flu vaccination or medical exemption, as season begins September 2.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Epic scheduling and imaging system experience.
• Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience with MRI protocols and patient safety procedures.
