Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for MRI scans of various body parts, including setting up coils and monitoring devices.
- Screen patients for ferrous metal implants or other contraindications prior to imaging.
- Select appropriate pulse sequences and protocols, adjusting as needed for diagnostic quality.
- Operate MRI console to manipulate and evaluate images, ensuring quality and completeness.
- Send images to PACS, verify exams, and document procedures accurately for billing and recordkeeping.
- Provide patient care by explaining procedures, addressing questions, and monitoring physical and psychological needs.
- Initiate intravenous lines for contrast-enhanced MRI exams and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and participate in departmental statistics and quality audits.
- Support training and education of students and technologists, and contribute to ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of related MRI technologist experience.
- ARRT certification in radiologic technology.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Ability to operate GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners.
- Flu vaccination or medical exemption, as season begins September 2.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Epic scheduling and imaging system experience.
- Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience with MRI protocols and patient safety procedures.
