Job Title

Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, every other weekend, availability for 36 or 48 hours, includes some winter holidays, time off approval
Key Responsibilities
- Float to various ICU and intermediate care units, including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care, Surgical Trauma ICU, Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and special pathogen units (COVID).
- Provide expert nursing care, clinical review, and support to critically ill patients.
- Adhere to hospital policies, including float and trauma policies, with flexibility based on unit needs.
- Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and patient care management.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Virginia RN license (or pending)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Level 1 Trauma experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR system required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and flexible scheduling as described
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ICU or critical care experience in a hospital setting
- Experience floating across multiple critical care units
- Knowledge of special pathogens (e.g., COVID units)
- Familiarity with hospital policies regarding float pools and trauma
