Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical surgical nursing care for adult patients in a hospital setting.
• Perform procedures such as IV management, wound care, drain management, Foley insertions, and telemetry monitoring.
• Document patient care using Meditech Expanse system and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs and ensure safety.
• Maintain certification requirements, including BLS and IV certification, and adhere to unit-specific guidelines.
• Support patient-centered initiatives like bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections.

Required Qualifications

• Active compact nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based Medical Surgical experience.
• BLS certification required.
• IV certification required.
• Experience with telemetry equipment and procedures like chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt drains, and central line dressing changes.
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with wound care, drain management, and telemetry monitoring.
• Proven ability to work autonomously with bedside reporting and patient engagement.
• Knowledge of Meditech Expanse documentation system.
• Flexibility with floating to same-level units as needed.
