Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, rotating shifts (12-hour day/night shifts), including every other weekend, with floating across units/departments
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver neonatal nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of outcomes
- Assist with procedures such as intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, and admissions
- Monitor and operate specialized equipment including ventilators, nitric oxide, MedFusion and Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, and Epic charting
- Perform neonatal assessments and care for IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, G-tubes, and administer oral and IV medications
- Collaborate with the NICU team to ensure quality patient care and safety
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of neonatal nursing experience
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Valid RN license for North Dakota (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability and willingness to float to PICU and PEDS units
- Proficiency with Epic (OneChart) charting system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Level III NICU experience
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
- Familiarity with conventional and high-frequency ventilators, nitric oxide, cool cap, and medication pumps

Additional Notes
- Shifts are 12 hours each, scheduled three times weekly
- Nurses will be trained on unit-specific protocols and Epic system during orientation
- Candidates must badge in/out at the facility and wear role-specific scrubs (child-friendly scrubs with role-colored pants)
- Those living within 80 miles of Fargo will receive the local travel rate, with a $8/hour reduction for those 60-80 miles away
- Prior employment with Sanford Health must be disclosed in the application, with an end date at least 6 months before submission
