Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 12-hour shifts, rotating schedule, no block scheduling, requires holiday work, no weekend requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to adult and pediatric patients in a Level 3 Trauma ER setting
• Manage a patient patient ratio of approximately 1:5, with flexibility for higher acuity and census changes
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation, including charting and medication management
• Administer medications via Pyxis system and manage IV therapy including starting IVs and managing drips
• Perform EKGs, straight stick labs, and respiratory treatments as needed, with support from ancillary staff
• Respond to critical events, including trauma and psychiatric patients, in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of ER nursing experience with high-volume community settings
• Valid RN license in New York State
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (active or proof of class prior to start)
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
• Ability to work with higher patient ratios (above 1:4) as required in busy ER conditions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience and familiarity with ER trauma protocols
• Experience managing psychiatric or boarded patients in emergency settings
