Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts, contract position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide labor and delivery nursing care in a busy hospital setting.
- Administer medications, including blood products and IV therapies.
- Assist with circumcisions, cord care, and neonatal assessments.
- Educate parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions.
- Manage pain control including epidurals, PCA, and opioid administration.
- Follow infection control protocols and neonatal care standards such as baby-friendly practices.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Missouri or compact nursing license.
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience, including level 2 care.
- Cerner electronic medical records experience.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate; AWHONN Advanced preferred.
- Experience with neonatal assessments, blood product administration, IV starts, and airway management.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with phototherapy, thermoregulation, and high-risk newborns (e.g., low birth weight, large for gestational age).
- Skills in neonatal pain management, baby-friendly protocols, and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
- Ability to teach parents about circumcision care, car seat safety, and discharge procedures.
