Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care/Stepdown unit.
- Monitor patients with cardiovascular diagnoses, including post-cath procedures, heart failure, arrhythmias, and more.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including precepting students as needed.
- Float between different levels of care such as Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, depending on unit needs.
- Follow unit protocols, including weekend coverage and call-in procedures.
- Adhere to certification requirements and maintain competency in cardiac care, IV starts, sheath pulls, and sedation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Indiana or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in cardiac, PCU, or stepdown settings.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends (50%), with a 12-hour shift schedule.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with cardiac drips, post-catheterization care, Sheath pulls, and telemetry monitoring.
- Comfort with patients requiring conscious sedation and diverse cardiac management.
- Previous experience in Level I trauma or teaching hospital settings.
