Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC) setting, utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe and effective delivery of care.
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.
- Delegate patient care priorities appropriately to staff based on their education and experience.
- Supervise and provide direction to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to patient needs, including floating to different units if required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky RN license (must be attached to resume).
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association).
- 2+ years recent LTAC experience, including vent/trach management.
- Must have recent experience working in LTAC and with ventilator/trach patients.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to float to other units as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a hospital with 6:1 patient ratios.
- Strong leadership and delegation skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
