Schedule / Job Type
- Travel - Full-time, 13-week assignment, dayshift, approximately 36 hours per week, with rotating weekend call
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the operating room for neuro, spine, and other surgical procedures
- Assist with high-volume neuro surgeries, including craniotomy, orthopedic, robotic, urology, plastic surgery, as well as heart and transplant surgeries
- Collaborate with surgical team members, including surgical techs, to ensure smooth procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation using hospital systems such as Meditech
- Adhere to strict dress code and facility policies regarding appearance, hygiene, and body art
- Support patient comfort and safety throughout surgical processes, demonstrating compassion and professionalism
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
- 2+ years of operating room experience in an acute care hospital setting
- BLS and ACLS certification
- NIH certification preferred
- Experience with robotic surgeries and Meditech system is a plus
- Ability to work a 12.5-hour shift, 3 days per week, with weekend call responsibilities
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Neurosurgery experience (preferred)
- Robotic surgery experience (highly desirable)
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
