- Full-time, Night shift, Travel assignment, 13 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Monitor and manage critically ill children, including those with congenital heart disease and post-operative cardiac patients.
- Perform procedures such as central line and arterial line placements, intubation, extubation, and sternal closures.
- Assist with post-op recovery, ECMO weaning, and other advanced pediatric cardiac care activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of Texas or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of PICU or Pediatric CVICU experience as a staff nurse.
- Experience with caring for pediatric cardiac patients, including post-operative management.
- Current certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS.
- Proven experience with invasive procedures such as line placement and management of complex cardiac cases.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2+ years of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse.
- At least 1 year of neonatal cardiac patient care, pre and post-op.
- Additional Pediatric cardiac care experience on step-down units or cardiology floors.
