Registered Nurse Oncology

Job Title

• Registered Nurse - Hematology Oncology

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Day shifts, 5 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, education, and case management for adult hematology patients.
• Conduct phlebotomy, central line care, and assist with bone marrow biopsies.
• Facilitate patient scheduling for infusions and manage phone triage calls.
• Maintain documentation and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Follow clinic protocols and collaborate with hematology teams to provide high-quality outpatient care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in acute hematology or oncology settings.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in outpatient hematology or oncology clinics.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy skills are required.
• Ability to bring and use own stethoscope.
• EPIC EMR access proficiency is preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with benign hematology conditions such as bleeding disorders, hemophilia, anemia, sickle cell disease, or DVTs.
• Oncology clinic experience preferred but not required.
• Certifications such as ONS, BMTCN, or OCN are a plus.

• No call, float, or weekend shifts required.
• Clinic is closed on major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
• RNs are required to bring their own stethoscope.
• Manual diffs are performed by lab personnel; RNs focus on patient assessment and education.
