Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients.
- Monitor mother and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery processes.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Support patients and families through education and emotional support.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or ability to obtain.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of obstetric or labor and delivery nursing experience.
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts, 4 shifts per week.
- Candidates without an active license can apply; license issuance takes approximately 6-8 weeks.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a Level IV Trauma or critical access hospital setting.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records or similar systems.
- Comfortable working in a small, rural hospital environment.

Note:
Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible. Housing is typically a 1-bedroom apartment, with move-in available 72 hours prior to start date. Vehicles are provided for local use, and the assignment guarantees a minimum of 60 hours every two weeks. The schedule and shift details will be confirmed closer to the start date based on staffing needs.
