Schedule / Job Type
• Travel, Full-time, Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities
• Provide patient care on a Medical Respiratory Unit specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including pneumonia, COPD, and other lung diseases.
• Float to different units and hospitals as needed, maintaining flexibility across various medical patient needs.
• Collaborate daily with interdisciplinary teams through patient rounds, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on the main unit and 1:4 on the respiratory step-down unit.
• Handle a wide range of medical and surgical patients, including those with GI issues, diabetes, stroke, or post-surgical needs.
• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a Compact state (no temporary licenses accepted).
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
• Current American Heart Association BLS or Red Cross certification.
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, with at least 1 year in a specialized respiratory or medical-surgical setting.
• Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week, including every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Willingness to float between units and hospitals.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience in a high-acuity respiratory or ICU setting.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records system.
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
