- Full-time, Night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), Nights
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized orthopedic nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative patients.
- Manage care for elective and trauma orthopedic patients, including those with hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs.
- Utilize EPIC EMR system for documentation and patient tracking.
- Assist with the use of orthopedic equipment such as CPM, knee immobilizers, and bone foam.
- Support safe patient handling and adhere to safety protocols during care delivery.
- Potential to float to different facilities within the health system as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid nursing license in state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with orthopedic and trauma experience required.
- BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
- Experience with EPIC EMR.
- Ability to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam prior to start.
- Knowledge of orthopedic procedures including total hip, knee, and shoulder cases.
- Use of rapid response teams and emergency protocol familiarity.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with orthopedic trauma and elective surgeries.
- Familiarity with orthopedic patient equipment (e.g., CPM, immobilizers).
- Prior experience working in a hospital or acute care setting.
