Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in a busy medical-surgical and telemetry environment within a large hospital setting.
- Administer medications, monitor patient vitals, and manage telemetry equipment, including 12-lead EKGs and telemetry monitoring.
- Respond to emergent situations, including blood transfusions and Lasix GTT administration.
- Support a floating nurse role across 15 medical-surgical units, specializing in areas such as neurology, cardiac, oncology, transplantation, and general medicine.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care, adhering to unit-specific procedures and protocols.
- Document patient information accurately using web-based applications and electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts at the time of submission
- 3+ years of relevant nursing experience, including prior travel experience
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate web-based applications
- CPR-AHA and ACLS-AHA certifications
- Prior experience with Epic electronic medical records
- Experience in a teaching hospital and Level I trauma preferred
- Strong understanding of telemetry monitoring and ventilator management
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Expertise in neurology, cardiology, or transplant units
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced hospital environment
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule including days, evenings, and nights
- Flexibility to rotate within the schedule without blocked requests for specific days off
