- Full-time, Night shifts (4x12 hours)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide critical care nursing for ICU patients, including post-neurosurgical, stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath patients
- Monitor and manage ventilators, IV drips, telemetry, and conscious sedation
- Respond to emergencies and manage dysrhythmias efficiently
- Float to Stepdown, ED, or MedSurg units as needed
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Valid VA or compact nursing license in hand at time of submittal
- Strong neuro care experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications via American Heart Association
- Ability to float to other units including ED/MedSurg as required
- Current driver’s license for address verification
- Must meet local residency requirements (reside at least 50 miles from the facility)
- Clear background with no prior license or background hits
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 3+ years of critical care experience, with at least 1 year in neuro ICU preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience a plus
- EPIC electronic health record proficiency
- Experience with ventilator management, telemetry, and emergency protocols
