Key Responsibilities
- Provide general nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting.
- Conduct nursing assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans based on resident needs.
- Coordinate outside physician visits and communicate effectively with physicians and family members.
- Educate residents, families, and staff regarding care plans.
- Administer and document routine and emergency medications and treatments accurately.
- Ensure clinical documentation is complete and timely to maintain care quality.
- Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment.
- Supervise Nursing Assistants and participate in Quality Management programs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV therapy, including initiating IVs, managing central lines, and catheters.
- Serve as the primary contact during assigned shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of South Dakota.
- Ability to perform nursing assessments and develop care plans.
- Experience with medication administration and documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
- Competence in IV therapy procedures.
- Strong communication and supervisory skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in LTC or SNF settings.
- Familiarity with resident care planning and interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Bilingual abilities or additional certifications are a plus.
