Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient oncology nursing care across all cancer types and phases, including treatment, post-surgical, and neurological care
  • Administer inpatient chemotherapy regimens and manage biotherapy side effects
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry data, perform wound, ostomy, Foley, and tracheostomy care
  • Recognize and respond promptly to oncologic emergencies, including tumor lysis syndrome, sepsis, and extravasation injuries
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, advanced directives, and symptom management
  • Assist with special procedures such as port access, infusion pump management, and radiation safety protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years recent oncology nursing experience within the past 12 months
  • Valid RN license and pending license acceptance is acceptable
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with IV therapies, infusions, and oncologic emergency management
  • Ability to float within scope to intermediate care units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Charge nurse or leadership experience in a teaching or hospital setting
  • Experience with complex oncologic procedures, including extravasation injury and tumor lysis syndrome management
  • Familiarity with EPIC charting system and radiation safety precautions
  • Experience caring for patients with specific cancer types such as breast, lung, brain, or blood malignancies

  • Candidates must meet travel compliance requirements and have at least 75 miles separation from the facility if local
  • References required from recent supervisors or charge RNs within past year
  • Pending license acceptance and completion of required modules prior to start date
