Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute inpatient care for adult patient populations in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit.
- Monitor patients with conditions such as acute coronary syndrome, cardiac diagnoses, or post-procedural care, including post-PTCA/stent and vascular sheath management.
- Administer IV medications, including insulin drips and cardiac drips, and perform essential procedures such as starting IVs and patient assessments.
- Float to appropriate units as needed, working within a resource float team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while following unit-specific protocols and ensuring patient safety.
- Document patient care in EPIC electronic health record system and adhere to compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active NY RN license or proof of application with applied date (processing time 6-8 weeks).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent telemetry or acute inpatient RN experience.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS (must be completed prior to start).
- Experience with Epic EMR system within the past 2 years.
- Ability to work 2 out of 3 holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
- Reliable transportation, as public transit is not accessible in the area; vehicle equipped for winter months.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with cardiac drips and post-cardiac cath care.
- Knowledge of insulin drip management and telemetry monitoring.
- Prior travel nurse experience.
