Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages in the Emergency Room setting, following provider’s orders, standards of care, and hospital policies.
• Make independent clinical decisions during scheduled shift, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to CNA/Tech staff, maintaining high-quality care standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and responses, and communicate effectively with physicians and team members.
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure proper safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Assist in training department staff and contribute to departmental policies and procedures development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Diploma in Nursing).
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or eligible for license application.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain or maintain certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in emergency or acute care settings preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, hospital regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
