Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using all four phases of the nursing process, incorporating input from the inter-professional team and patient/family.
- Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, treatments, and procedures, while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders and coordination with case management.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction initiatives, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and applications.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
