Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team.
• Initiate and carry out patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy, recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes while addressing educational needs based on comprehension level.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including execution of discharge orders and coordination with case management.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on applicable computer systems and applications.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
