Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical setting in accordance with organizational policies and standards.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate smooth transitions.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records accurately and timely.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clinical competency within 3 months and every 3 years.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous but not required at hire.
