Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the lifespan and develop individualized plans of care for patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
- Apply independent nursing judgment to determine appropriate interventions, priorities, and when escalation to a licensed independent provider is required
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of services
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record
- Participate in quality and performance improvement activities; provide guidance, delegation, and mentoring to ancillary staff and peers
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
- Ability to complete clinical competency and high-risk competency validations within required timeframes per role guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an acute care, medical/surgical, or inpatient nursing setting
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation
- Experience delivering culturally responsive, patient-centered care in diverse or underserved community settings
