Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 8-Hour Days (8:30–17:00) | Monday–Friday | 40 Hours/Week | 13-Week Assignment | Call rotation required (one day per week on a rotating schedule) | Weekend requirement: approximately one weekend every 6–7 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of interventional radiology and special procedures including stroke intervention, intracranial embolization, carotid and vertebral stenting, kyphoplasty, nephrostomy, biliary placement, chemoembolization, Therasphere mapping and infusion, mesenteric angiogram, UAE, GAE, PAE, chest port placement, and permanent catheter placement
- Operate and maintain fluoroscopy equipment including single-plane and biplane imaging systems; utilize PACS for image management and stock and maintain unit supplies
- Perform procedural responsibilities including equipment setup, access site preparation, room circulation, and scrubbing to maintain a sterile field
- Apply professional knowledge including 3D imaging, isolation precautions and PPE, lead tech responsibilities, and coordination with rapid response and code teams
- Participate in on-call rotation (one day per week) and occasional weekend coverage per unit schedule
- Document and chart accurately using required unit systems
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures experience required
- Neurological procedure experience required, including carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and vertebroplasty
- Proficiency in abdominal, pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, and venous access procedures as listed in specialty scope
- Competency with fluoroscopy equipment and sterile technique required
- Active ARRT certification and current BLS required
- NC state license or compact license required; proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience at a stroke-certified hospital preferred
- ARRT CI and/or ARRT VI certifications preferred
- Experience with GE Innova IGS, Siemens imaging systems, and ultrasound preferred
- Familiarity with additional procedures including dialysis graft interventions, upper and lower extremity angiography, vascular closure systems, EKG lead placement, and inventory management preferred
