Contract | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 or 48 hours per week supported | 13-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown/telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Monitor and interpret telemetry for patients presenting with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemaker, or defibrillator needs
- Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin
- Collaborate with a heart failure navigator and interdisciplinary team using SBAR communication
- Document patient care using EPIC and manage medication administration via Pyxis
- Float to other telemetry units as needed; work 4 weekend days per 6-week scheduling period
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac stepdown or telemetry setting
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac drips and IV medication management
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication frameworks
- Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
- Familiarity with heart failure patient populations and care protocols
