Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit with a focus on neurological patient populations, including stroke, neurosurgical (spine, cranial, and ENT), and seizure patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
- Manage a patient assignment of 5–6 patients per shift in accordance with unit staffing ratios
- Float to other Medical/Surgical units as needed
- Adhere to holiday coverage requirements as needed by the unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Proficiency with EPIC charting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neurological patient populations, including stroke and neurosurgical care
- Familiarity with neurosurgical specialties such as spine, cranial, and ENT
