Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Cardiac Float Pool)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry float pool unit during night shifts
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including lethal arrhythmias, and respond appropriately
• Titrate cardiac drips and manage pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients, including sheath management
• Float to all competent units within the facility as needed
• Complete required HealthStream modules prior to start and adhere to all assigned module deadlines throughout the assignment
• Must be prepared to care for COVID-positive patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid Missouri RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of true telemetry/cardiac experience, including titrating drips, cardiac cath care, and sheath experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in Cerner electronic health records system required
• Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), CPI, and NIHSS
• Must pass an EKG exam on orientation day with a score of 80% or higher, including lethal rhythm identification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC certification preferred
• Completion of 8 cardiac CEUs and 8 stroke CEUs (required for telemetry placement; must be completed as soon as possible prior to start)
