Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a float pool capacity, rotating across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, including travel to other metro campuses as needed — Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact) required at time of submission
• Monitor and manage a diverse patient population including heart failure, myocardial infarction, stroke, COPD, pulmonary embolism, seizures, alcohol withdrawal, and more at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform cardiac monitoring duties including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and participation in Rapid Response Teams
• Manage IV therapy including central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), and PCA
• Provide respiratory support including management of chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and interpretation of ABGs
• Assume Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts as needed per unit; fulfill weekend requirement of 8 shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Kansas and Missouri, or a qualifying compact license, required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Proficiency in Epic EMR
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with wound care, wound VAC, and surgical drain management
• Familiarity with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and post-MI patient management
• Experience with isolation precautions and renal/hemodialysis patient management
