Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care using the nursing process across the continuum of care in an ambulatory setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions or escalation
• Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and follow-up needs in a culturally responsive manner
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services; advocate for patients navigating the healthcare system
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities; provide guidance and delegation to ancillary staff as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association required at time of hire
• Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter
• High-risk competency validation required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
• Experienced nurses hired directly into a specialty must provide evidence of current required specialty-specific certifications at time of hire

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Case Management certification preferred
• Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient clinic setting
• Familiarity with care coordination, chronic pain management, or non-surgical pain populations
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems
