Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments incorporating the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice, with consideration of patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, including identifying and prioritizing patient needs and risk factors
• Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, treatments, and procedures while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor the accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on clinical computer systems and applications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, Recovery, or Postpartum settings
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
