Travel RN – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days | 4 x 10-hour rotating shifts (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM) | Expected 2 weekend call shifts (12-hour) per month | Expected 1 night call per week

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring clinical intervention
• Develop, implement, and evaluate a measurable, individualized plan of care consistent with nursing standards
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and patient outcomes, modifying the care plan as needed
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Float within surgical services as required; document and implement timely interventions appropriate to patient needs using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• Current BLS Certification via American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current ACLS Certification via American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current PALS Certification via American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior PACU or surgical services experience
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• BSN or MSN education, or national professional nursing certification
