Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced ultrasound imaging procedures and provide support to other imaging technologists as needed
• Handle the movement, setup, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment, including troubleshooting basic maintenance and resolving image processing and archiving issues
• Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS; follow downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues to the PACS administrator as needed
• Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-specific needs of each patient
• Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required
• Participate in ongoing education, quality assurance, safety initiatives, and technical advances within scope of licensure

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or approved equivalent
• New Mexico State Licensure (DMS by MIRTP NMED) required
• BLS certification via American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Requires one of the following active certifications: Sonography (S) by ARRT, Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS, or Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS
• Basic computer experience required
• Availability for weekend shifts and on-call assignments required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 1 year of ultrasound scanning experience preferred
• One or more of the following additional certifications preferred: Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT, Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT, Breast (BR) RDMS by ARDMS, Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS, or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS
• Experience with PACS systems and image archiving workflows
