Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

• Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency room setting.
• Assess patient conditions, make independent clinical decisions, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with medical staff, support personnel, and families to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and responses in electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and facility policies.
• Supervise and support nursing staff and assist in training new team members.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor’s degree).
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or eligible for licensure.
• BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred but required within specified timeframes.
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and ongoing recertification as specified.
• Ability to make sound clinical judgments in emergency situations.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous acute care, emergency department, or long-term care experience.
• Knowledge of emergency nursing practices, hospital policies, and relevant laws and regulations.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills, with the ability to work efficiently under stress.
