Full-time, Day shift (3x12 Hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor patient status and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Follow hospital protocols and adhere to safety standards, including BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic charting systems, specifically Epic.
• Must be flexible to float within scope of practice within the facility as needed.
• Work scheduled days and participate in every other weekend and two out of the three winter holidays, with limitations on time-off requests.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid State RN license (pending licenses accepted, must have license in-hand the Wednesday before start).
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Epic electronic medical record experience.
• 12-hour shift availability.
• Must meet travel compliance criteria and adhere to UVA float policy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in a CVICU or critical care setting.
• Knowledge of cardiac and thoracic procedures and post-operative care.
• Certification copies required at submission.
