Registered Nurse - Hospice
Location: Beaver Dam, WI
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days shift, onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive home health and hospice nursing care to a primarily geriatric patient population.
  • Manage patients with chronic conditions such as heart disease, respiratory issues, dementia, cancer, and other chronic illnesses.
  • Conduct routine and OASIS visits, averaging 5-6 patients per day.
  • Participate in daily huddle calls, weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, and monthly staff meetings.
  • Ensure patient comfort and symptom management with compassion and empathy, including end-of-life care.
  • Document care and utilize critical thinking skills for complex wound care, IV administration, ostomy care, and medication management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS certification.
  • Travel experience and ability to manage complex chronic diseases.
  • Proficiency in patient and family education, wound care, IV therapy, and medication administration.
  • Experience with hospice care, including pain and symptom management and end-of-life support.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with NPWT, Central Line Care, and managing complex wounds.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to both home health and hospice settings.

Additional Notes:

  • Candidates must reside within 80 miles of the facility; local rates apply.
  • Must be available to work at least one major and one minor holiday.
  • On-call responsibilities are scheduled once every six weeks, with non-consecutive days.
  • No floating between departments; primarily home health and hospice visits.
  • Uniform requirement includes solid color scrubs and non-slip shoes.
  • Orientation includes a combination of computer-based training and field shadowing.

Note: Previous employment with Marshfield must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
