Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Intermediate Care Unit, covering both medical-telemetry and step-down units.
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as PNA, COPD exacerbation, DKA, HHS, ETOH withdrawal, GIB, sepsis, PE, UTI, and respiratory failure.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and float to other units as needed, demonstrating flexibility across medical-telemetry and IMC roles.
- Administer medications, including cardiac drips and high-flow oxygen therapies, and manage ventilated patients with trachs, vents, and BiPAP.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- 1-2 years of ICU, IMC, or step-down experience
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Experience with trachs, vents, high-flow NC, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-acuity intermediate care setting
- Ability to float between units and adapt to varied patient needs
- Knowledge of managing respiratory devices and cardiac monitoring equipment
