Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac, vascular, and medical-surgical patients in a stepdown unit.
• Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and manage invasive procedures such as chest tubes and epidurals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize electronic medical records (Cerner) to document patient information accurately.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adherence to unit policies, safety standards, and certification requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license or current active RN license in the state of practice.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, preferably in a stepdown, ICU, or telemetry setting.
• Prior experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patient populations.
• Telemetry experience with the ability to interpret EKGs and cardiac monitoring.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with open heart surgeries, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, or fem-pop bypass procedures.
• Previous work in CVICU or similar cardiac care units within the past year.
• Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
