Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric intensive care patients, including those with congenital heart defects, heart failure, transplants, dysrhythmias, and other critical conditions.
- Monitor and manage patients across neonatal to adult age ranges in a high-acuity environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including intensivists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Follow strict unit protocols, including narcotic waste policies and infection control procedures.
- Assist with patient education and family support during complex and prolonged hospitalizations.
- Float within ICU clusters (NICU, PICU, Burn PICU) as required, ensuring adaptability and coverage across units.
Required Qualifications
- Active Arkansas Registered Nurse (AR) or Compact license.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with pediatric CV experience preferred but not required.
- EPIC electronic medical record experience.
- Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Proven ability to pass nicotine and fit tests, with no facial hair unless for religious reasons.
- Negative nicotine test clearance.
- Prior travel nursing experience with at least 1 completed assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with pediatric cardiovascular patients and ventricular assist devices (VAD) or Impella devices.
- Experience with intracardiac lines, ECMO, and other advanced critical care technologies.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strict policies and high acuity care.
