Job Title
• Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, days shift, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized nursing care for cardiac, respiratory, and other critically ill patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage patient care related to dysrhythmias, telemetry, and cardiac procedures.
• Manage Vasoactive and cardiac drips, including titration when applicable, and assist with procedures such as cardiac catheterization and tracheostomy care.
• Administer procedural sedation, chest tubes, external CPAP, BIPAP, and manage ventilator support as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and utilize electronic health records effectively to support patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications
• Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant telehealth or cardiac stepdown experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH preferred.
• Successful completion of a Pass/Fail EKG exam.
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, and cardiac drips.
• Comfort working with 1:5 nurse-patient ratios, with experience managing Vasoactive and cardiac medications.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to work with rapid response teams and manage complex cardiac and respiratory conditions.
• Experience with PICC line management, peripheral line care, and external ventilator management.
• Comfortable with procedural sedation and managing chest tubes and external CPAP/BIPAP devices.
